Hats are a very deep part of my own art and Lina Stein is one of the designers I could look at all day. She resides in Westport, Ireland and has a background in classical theatrical millinery. Her work is exotic and elegant as well as playful.
"Wearable art, also known as Artwear or "art to wear", refers to individually designed pieces of (usually) hand-made clothing or jewelry created as fine or expressive art. While the making of any article of clothing or other wearable object typically involves aesthetic considerations, the term wearable art implies that the work is intended to be accepted as a serious and unique artistic creation or statement. Pieces may be sold and/or exhibited." (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wearable_art")
I consider myself a designer of wearable art and my love for the category is across the board. Most of my creations are done with fiber and my preference is Art For Your Head. My work now resides all over the world. A portfolio of some of my work can be seen here: DreamWoven
I wanted to put together a blog to showcase artisans that I admire and like watching.
This millinery is so wonderfully creative and over the top.
